Community Programs

Low Vision Clinic.
Our work begins on our Boston-area campus, but we are committed to sharing our knowledge with the people who need it most. Through special classes, conferences and in-home outreach efforts, we offer many services for people of all ages who are visually impaired as well as for vision professionals, classroom teachers, elder-care providers, medical professionals and family members.

Community programs are supported by advisory committees comprised of representatives from each New England state, vocational rehabilitation agencies, special education departments, parents and teachers. These committees provide guidance to community programs at Perkins and direction for program development. Together, we are increasing services to students who are blind or visually impaired and to professionals throughout New England.

Perkins is making a difference for people who are visually impaired on campus, in the community, and around the world.
