Elementary Summer Programs

Grades 4-6: Sunday, July 13 – Friday, July 18, 2008
Grades 1-3: Sunday, July 20 – Friday, July 25, 2008

Two separate weeks of overnight summer programs will be again held on the Perkins Campus. The focus will be on socialization with peers who are also blind or visually impaired, basic skills training, community exploration and recreation.

Activities that will be offered include:

  • daily living skills
  • social skills
  • community experiences
  • skills reinforcement (i.e. mobility, money, etc.)
  • physical education
  • crafts
  • outdoor adventures & games
  • music/drama
  • cookingswimming
  • horseback riding
  • field trips
  • water sports

Space is limited. All applicants and referral sources will be interviewed after a completed application packet has been returned. School and other educational/state contacts will also be interviewed. Students accepted into the program will be notified as soon as possible.
